(Lemnaceae) against eight different bacterial species such as Bacillus subtilis, Escherichi coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa,
Staphylococcus aureus, Micrococcus luteus, Shigella flexneri, Bacillus megaterium and Salmonella typhi using resazurin
microtiter plate assay and colorimetric resazurin assay. The methanol extract of the leaves showed antibacterial activity against
maximum number of bacterial species in the present study the least minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) value of 12.0
g/ml of methanolic extract of the leaves of Lemna minor was recorded against the bacterium species
<Email> abuamna4@hotmail.com</Email><articletype>Research</articletype><volume>5</volume><issue>1</issue><year>2015</year><keyword>Antibacterial activity,Lemna minor,Lemnaceae,Minimum inhibitory concentration</keyword><AUTHORS>Hassan Abdalla ,Almahy Dafalla</AUTHORS><afflication>Department of Chemistry, Taif University, Faculty of Science, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,Department of Chemistry, University of Bahri, Faculty of Science, Khartoum, Sudan</afflication></Article></Articles>
