gelling polymer and calcium chloride as cross-linking agent for potentially treating gastric ulcer, associated with helicobacter
pylori. Alginate based ornidazole floating in situ gelling system were prepared by dissolving varying concentration of sodium
alginate in deionized water containing calcium carbonate, to which drug was added and dissolved by stirring. The formulation
variable like concentration of sodium alginate significantly affected the invitro drug release from the prepared formulations. It
was concluded that prolonged gastrointestinal residence time and enhanced ornidazole stability resulting from the floating in
situ gel of ornidazole might contribute better for complete eradification of H. pylori
<Email>shivarajbglr@gmail.com</Email><articletype>Research</articletype><volume>3</volume><issue>2</issue><year>2013</year><keyword>Oral in situ gelling system, Controlled delivery,Ornidazole,Gastric residence time,Floating drug delivery,Sodium alginate</keyword><AUTHORS>Shivaraju,S Parthiban,S K Senthilkumar</AUTHORS><afflication>Department of Pharmaceutics, Bharathi College of Pharmacy, Bharathi Nagara, Mandya, Karnataka-571422, India,Department of Pharmaceutics, Bharathi College of Pharmacy, Bharathi Nagara, Mandya, Karnataka-571422, India,Department of Pharmaceutics, Bharathi College of Pharmacy, Bharathi Nagara, Mandya, Karnataka-571422, India</afflication></Article></Articles>
